Our Story

A Sebastapol tradition,
one find at a time.

Retrospect opened its doors on Petaluma Avenue back in 1955, and something about this corner of Sebastopol just feels like the right place to do business. We started as a small curio shop — the kind of place where you'd wander in looking for one thing and leave with three you didn't know you needed.

Over the decades, the inventory has shifted and grown, but the spirit hasn't: we still believe in pieces with a story, in the kind of shopping that feels like a conversation, and in treating every person who walks through our door like a neighbor. That's the Retrospect way.
